Biting the Ice

Mistakes

I have so many hockey-related embarrassing moments, its not even funny. Heres another one for ya...

I was about 15, and a really good skater by then. I always enjoyed going to the ice rink to show off how good I was and to flirt with guys.

I spotted one honey who made my jaw hit the floor, he was that cute. I decided I was going to skate my fastest right up to the wall, and Id do one of those big hockey stops that sprays ice everywhere. It really does look and sound beautiful.

I made sure the guy, who was a beginner skater, was watching, and I wound up. I was striding and striding, tearing up the ice. I came up to the wall to do my glorious stop, and I caught a nick in the ice!

I not only bit it, but I crashed into the wall sideways, making a HUGE, echoey noise!!! LOL!! I was so red-faced, and I couldnt believe what had just happened.

I got up slowly-I had actually hurt my knee! The guy was looking back at me like I was a complete freak/idiot. I couldnt believe what I had done. I did those stops all the time, and when a fine guy was watching, I bit it. Needless to say, there was no love connection that night, lol.
