Pick a quiet place..infront of the elevator?!

I was in the basement of a large dept. store...

The basement was really quite small compared to the rest of the store, and the only way to get there was by elavator. My wife and I are looking at appliances, when I got this urge to fart. Knowing me, I figured I better find a quiet corner. As it turned out, the only place where no one was roaming, was in front of the elevator. no problem, I let it rip.

All of a sudden I hear "oh my god", I turn around and look, the elevator door just opened and was full of people!!

I was no more than a foot from them. I had no place to go to hide. I couldn't even escape till they got out of the elevator.

p.s. I was so embarrassed, and it took them forever to pass by so I could get on that elevator, my wife said the people down there were still talking about it 30 minutes later.
