Close Call

Mistakes

This incident happened a little while ago and it was a very close call...

It was a very rainy, thundery, lighteningy, day. I was on the school bus with and the only people left on the bus were me, my secret crush(secret to everybody except my best friends), and his friends. When it was time for me to get off, my crush looked at me and I got excited and confident. When I got to the steps, I held onto the hand rail because the steps were very slippery from other kids walking on them with wet shoes. On the second to last step, I let go because I thought I could handle it. At the very same instant, There was a big, loud, long, clap of thunder. It startled me and I jumped. I fell on my butt and slid down the last step. Luckily, I landed on my feet and he stopped looking because he started talking to his friends again. Even luckier for me, since the clap of thunder was so loud and long, it drowned out my yelp. The only person who heard it was the bus driver. She asked me if I was ok. I told her I was ok as I got up and started to walk quickly towards my house.

As I got in the house, I let out a huge sigh of relief!
