The Horrific Cake Incident

From: Emily T

I made this mistake when I was maybe thirteen. Me, my mom, and my sister went to my fave restaurant to eat, ABP, which stands for something in French that I dont know how to spell. The food there is not French at all, it has mostly sandwiches and salads, and I love it.

On this particular day I was feeling like chicken caesar salad and chocolate cake, and thats exactly what I decided get. Well of course with my mom she said, "Get the salad first and then you can go back in the line and get a piece of cake" as if I would eat the cake before the salad if I didnt make two trips.

But I said "fine" and my mom got me the salad without the cake. So the three of us ate our main meals, I enjoyed the salad greatly, dont get me wrong, but the whole time I was craving that cake. I hadnt eaten cake in over a month, which was a looooong time.

So when I was finally finished I got a five-dollar bill from my mom and hopped back in the line. Well as soon as that creamy delicious chocolate slice was given to me on a paper plate, I stared at its rich frosting and mmmmm chocolate sprinkles, it looked delicious. I was so fixated on the cake that I barely even glanced up at the booth where my sister & mom were sitting, I just stared and stared at that cake. Well of course not looking where youre walking is NEVER a good idea, especially when youve got a pile of messy chocolate cake in your hands. I tripped on a piece of tomatoe on the floor, I was in shock. As if it wasnt bad enough to trip in front of everybody and get red juice on my shirt (luckily navy blue instead of a light color),I found myself facedown in the cake. A waiter rushed over and the whole place was squirming and fussing at me, except my mom and my sister, and for some reason the people in the booth next to them, who were in hysterics.

I was sooooo embarrassed, and a week later when my face broke out in rash and pimples, my sister goes "It mustve been the cake" and she laughs so hard she farts!!! I cant say I never came to ABP again, after all it was still my fave place to eat, and besides, my family sometimes made me go. But now I am sixteen and I still turn red remembering that story!
