Feeling the speech - Thats Embarrassing!!

My parents were at a large social function at a house of some friends. There were probably 200 plus people there all in formal attire. My parents are in their 70's and very proper. They all were gathering around to hear someone giving a speech about the wealthy owner of the house when my Mother felt my Dad reach out and hold her hand. She noticed that he was being much more affectionate with his hand holding than in the past. She stated as the speech went on for about 3 minutes he kept stroking her palm in ways he had not done before.

She was thinking My Dad was becoming more romantic than usual. At the conclusion of the speech she looked over at Dad and noticed it was a young man in his 30's who also thought he was holding his wife's hand. They were both shocked as were their spouses and all the guests. Not sure she will ever live that one down.
