| I am a competative gymnast in North Carolina. As a gymnast, we compete in meets, on the bars, vault, floor, and beam. Well, I knew that it was about time for me to start my period, but i was at a meet on Saturday, and didn't really have time to think about it and prepare. It was my turn on beam, and our mount (to get on the beam) required us to sit on it, pose, and then stand and carry on with the routine. Unknowingly, I had started my period so when I sat on the beam I left a rather large spot. During the routine myself and everyone else, including the judges, were aware of the blood on my leo and on the beam. |

| When I had finished the routine, i looked at the spot and wanted to cry. The owners of the gym that we were competing at were mad that I had RUINED their beam, so they had to clean it off, and bring in a spare so that the competition could cotinue. My whole team had to change uniforms so that we would all look alike, and by that time EVERYONE knew what had happened and i just wanted to run away and cry! |
